Minutes of the Deer Creek Homeowners Association of Livonia Board of Directors

Held at Diane Tsaprazis’s  House March 16, 2011

Approved 5-11-11

Present:  Denny Behrendsen, Bob Ellis, Dave Wood, Bob Moore, Connie Vokal, and Diane Tsaprazis (6).

Minutes:  Diane read the minutes of 2-16-11, which were approved with no changes.

Treasurer’s Report:  Dave distributed a report with the 2010 budget and actual amounts, the proposed 2011 budget and directional plan for 2012 and 2013, along with a separate list of checkbook transactions.   The accurate yearend balance should be $3,553.87 because there were 2 checks totaling $131.65 written in January 2011 for expenses incurred in 2010.  We accepted the correction to the yearend figures.  Collection of dues this year is ahead of where we were last year; we only need 30 more homeowners to pay to be ahead of the budget.  A few presentation adjustments were made to clarify the sinking fund amounts and the beginning checkbook balances.  The reports were accepted.

Agenda:  We reviewed the Agenda drafted by Diane for our 4-14-11 Annual Meeting and made a few changes.  Diane will bring name tags to the meeting.

City Meeting:  Denny will set up a meeting with the Livonia Public Service Dept. within the next few weeks to discuss road improvements, water projects and snow plowing. 

Postcard Reminder for Annual Meeting:  We made revisions to the card we sent last year.  The postcards will be prepared by Dave, and printed and mailed by Speedy Printing to all homes on about April 1^st. 

Donations:  Dave recommends we send a thank you letter the homeowners who made donations in excess of the requested dues.  Diane will prepare a draft.

Landscaping:  1) On the 8 Mile Island, the pampas grasses need to be trimmed down to a couple of inches between March 15^th and April 15^th.  We are unsure if Metro Grounds will do this task, so we need to ask Walt Gerstner.  2)  Connie and Diane will plant pansies at the end of the 8 Mile Island when the weather is appropriate.  3)  In mid-May, we will plant summer annuals.  There is a homeowner that requested to be invited.
